ONLINE DATING AND FIRST DATE SAFETY TIPS
|
Valentine's Day is in the air and with people going on many first dates, we wanted to remind you that prior to meeting someone for the first time, you should do some research on them! Google their name, run them through the Family Watchdog registry, and even run their name through a background check!
When meeting someone for the first time, make sure to pick a secure location (such as a favorite restaurant or coffee shop) and to stay under intoxicated. Be aware of their body language and look for red flags. Always stay safe!
Many dating apps have a secure background check that members must pass, but always do your own research on top of trusting an app!

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Also known as African American History Month, the event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black history.
The story of Black History Month begins in 1915, half a century after the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States.

February marks the beginning to tax season. To avoid long waits for your refund (if you are entitled to one) - get looking into getting your taxes filed early and correctly!
We love Turbo Tax because how quick, affordable, and easy it is to use for simple refunds! It even helps find extra money owed to you by checking exemptions!
|
|
Scams are an everyday occurrence, but during tax season, scammers really seem to up their game in an attempt to take your money.
Never, ever, ever give any personal information over the phone to someone you do not know. The IRS will not contact you for payment unless it's through the official post office!
|
|
Before you go and spend all that extra money you might be entitled to this tax season, sit down with your family and prioritize where your money should go. Maybe pay up some bills or put some money in savings for a rainy day!
Don't spend all your money on something you don't need or will cost you a ton in payments over the rest of the year - like a new car. Car dealerships love to take advantage of people during tax time knowing that they may not be able to make payments through the rest of the year.
