Summary: Van Hool is recalling certain model year 2012 TD925 motorcoaches, manufactured from October 2011, through July 2012, equipped with a Cummins ISX engine and a Fuel Pro fuel filter located behind the left tag axle tire. In the event of a left tag axle tire blow out, debris from the blown tire may damage the Fuel Pro fuel filter compartment base plate.
Consequence: Damage to the base plate may lead to a fuel leak inside the engine compartment. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a vehicle fire.
Remedy: Van Hool through their US agent, ABC Bus, Inc., will notify owners, and dealers will install a thicker base plate to protect the fuel filter, free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on, or about, November 15, 2012. Owners may contact ABC Bus, Inc. toll free at 1-877-427-7278.
