JULY means half the year is here or over, depending on how you look at it. July holds many great things, weather, get-togethers and of course, 4th of July. It would be a great time to check in with some firework safety. (National Council on Fireworks Safety) And please remember to be fair to neighbors and stop lighting off loud firecrackers at the time given by your state. You can call your local police station to see what times fireworks are allowed to be shot off. And another thing, please watch children closely, even with sparklers. The fourth of July is the number one day of the year that children get serious burns.

It has been one of the driest months so far. Wildfires are on the rise, and with the Fourth of July coming up, we need to be extra careful. Four out of five wildfires start because of human error. Do you have a plan for what to do if a wildfire comes your way and you need to leave your house? Please take a look at the following site and learn what we can do in the event of a wildfire. Trivia time, who has the slogan "Only YOU can prevent wildfire"? Click the following link to be taken back into time:
July is also "Make a Difference to a Child Month". Here are some simple things you can do to make a difference.

Support an organization that supports children. (YMCA, school, boyscouts) Spend quality time with your child or a child that needs some attention. Give them a hug, take a walk with them, just let them know that they are special. Volunteer in your community with cleaning up parks or serving lunches to kids in need. Another great place to make an impact on a child in the homeless shelter (or other shelters that help families). Social Wellness is also highlighted during the month of July. Did you know socially isolated people are more susceptible to illness and have a death rate two to three times higher than those who are not socially isolated? To learn more about Social Wellness, please check out the following website:

July also highlights Juvenile arthritis. Juvenile arthritis refers to any form of arthritis or arthritis-related condition that develops in children or teenagers who are less than 18 years of age. Approximately 294,000 children under the age of 18 are affected by pediatric arthritis and rheumatologic conditions. Here is a link from the Mayo clinic where you can do some more reading on this serious topic:
"If you have a worry about someone, this site shows pics and will show sex offenders in your area. Or you can check out areas of other loved ones to keep your family safe from preditors."
- Barbara R. via Facebook

"I really appreciate what you guys are doing, you are helping keep kids safe while raising awareness. Keep doing what your doing."
- Craig Harris, St. Louis, MO
Q: How do I update my address or phone number?
A: You may make this change by going to and signing in. Here you can change all your personal information, including your email, name, phone number, etc... Simply click on MY PROFILE and make any needed changes, then click UPDATE.

Q: I was watching an offender, now I cannot find them, where did they go?
A: An offender can be removed from the site for several reasons. Some offenders are removed because they are not required to register for life. Based on some offenses, offenders may only be required to register 10-15 years. They have passed away, their case may have been repealed and the conviction dropped, or there could be an error which is rare. If you feel we reached an error, please contact your local state's registry.

Did you recently learn that a registered sex offender is moving, or has moved into your neighborhood? This news can understandably be alarming for anyone.
